Outline Specification:
The trenching module is an underslung ROV track package facilitating burial of cables. It is capable of burying cables down to a covered depth of approx. 1.5m and can be operated to a water depth of 3000 m.
The Cable burial package can be added or removed quickly from an ROV. It comprises a central frame, a jet tool, a depressor, 2 x 150 kW power packs with associated valve packs, a control system and two removable track packages that can be exchanged for skids.
The burial package uses an efficient jetting system that has the water pumps mounted directly on the tool. The jet tool is positioned at the front of the vehicle to improve burial operations. The high and low pressure pumps mount onto a manifold to which differing length jetting swords can be attached. The package is supplied with jetting swords for 1m and 1.5m trench depth.
The jet tool is designed for burial in non-cohesive seabed (sands and silts) up to a depth of 1.5m and for cohesive seabeds( with strengths of up to 100 kPa) to a depth of 1m.
