Cable transfer is a critical activity in any cable project. Damage or delay at this stage can have far reaching effects. Ideally we would be involved from the early planning stages where we can work to develop the most cost effective method of transferring your cable, however we have on occasion provided urgent assistance to resolve transfer problems.

Our project engineers can undertake the planning and execution of the complete cable transfer operation. This may include the selection of the transfer method and/or vessel and the drafting of procedures. If required ETA can also design, build and install temporary cable tanks and trackways. |

We can provide cable handling equipment such as Linear Cable Engines (LCE) or powered quadrants together with the cable engine drivers/technicians. To aid with the operations we can also supply supervisors and cable hands as required. |
Examples of recent projects are:
- Transfer
from a freighter onto a Cable Vessel of approx. 3,200 km of telecom cable
plus 58 repeaters and 4 branching units.
- Transfer
from a freighter onto a Cable Vessel of approx. 2000 km of cable plus 31
repeaters.
- Loading/discharge
of numerous cables to temporary or purpose built facilities worldwide.
- Loading
of approx. 20km of power cable to installation vessel.
- Loading,
transport and transfer via freighter of approx. 84 km of power cable.
- Loading of approx. 34 km of power cable on to reels.
